4. Fill out the captcha. Enter the characters you see on the screen to confirm that you’re not a robot and click “Next”.
5. Choose a verification method. Microsoft will need to verify your identity via a one-time code before you can access the password reset page. There are several methods you can use, depending on the preferences you set up for your account.
   
   
   Email: Microsoft will send you a verification code to the recovery email address you have associated with your account.
   Use an app: If you have the Microsoft Account app you can use it to generate a unique code that Microsoft will use to verify your identity.
   Text: Microsoft can send you a text message with a code to verify your identity if you have a mobile number associated with your account. As, this is valid only when you have access of your mobile number. In case yo don't have that mobile number go through the Email.  
6. Get your verification code.
   Microsoft will send you a one-time verification code that you will need to regain access to your account. Enter the verification code in the space provided on the verification page and click “Next”.
7. Create a new password.
